Hi Reader,
How did your weekend go?
I had a reunion dinner with my high school friends and it was fun to see everyone after over 20 years. So many were the same and others had changed a lot.

๐ฉ On this week's email
We are celebrating 200 independent reviews on Google ๐ and sharing the joy with you all by giving away $200 / 200 EUR off some of our tours.
The best value destinations for 2026 - destinations where your money will go farther.
Celebrate 200 reviews - $200 / 200 EUR OFF!
โ
We have almost 400 guest reviews on our website here, but we only started our Google page a bit over 2 years ago and have just crossed the 200 review mark there!
YAY!
Why do we have only half on Google?
At first, we collected reviews on Facebook, but Meta does not manage spam at all, and our real reviews were also sprinkled with lots of spammy comments and fake reviews, so we decided to stop collecting reviews there.
Many guests don't use Google and prefer to send a review over email, and we add them directly to the site ourselves.
Google only allows for 1 review per user, but we have a 35% repeat rate, so many guests send their reviews for their second, third or fourth tour with us by email.
Happy me in one of the wineries we visit in Georgia
Some destinations are famously expensive, like Iceland or Japan, and others have traditionally been seen as more affordable, like most countries Southeast Asia but Singapore, Latin America and Eastern Europe or the Balkans.
Skyscanner published a report highlighting the destinations with the biggest drop in airfare prices, thanks to more flights being added or low cost airlines flying.
Here the top-10 destinations:
Cologne, Germany
Goa, India
Kaunas, Lithuania
Bergen, Norway
Madeira, Portugal
Santiago de Compostela, Spain
Tbilisi, Georgia
Ottawa, Canada
Murcia, Spain
Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Armenia
Besides flight price drops, here is a specific list of awesome places to consider in 2026 to make your money go farther, from my personal experience:
Yerevan (Armenia) - The capital of Armenia is a pretty affordable destination with fab food and friendly people. Its wide tree-lined avenues and Western-European looking architecture is clean and welcoming. It was a very pleasant surprise for me this year, and I am very happy to be returning in 2026 for our first tour (details and itinerary here). Pst! You can combine Georgia and Armenia into 1 trip as both dates are consecutive. Since flights to Tbilisi are relatively cheap, this is a great combo for 2026! See our Georgia trip here.
Kosovo - The small unrecognised country in the Balkans is one of the most affordable destinations in the world and the cheapest in Europe. Sandwiched between Albania, Serbia and North Macedonia, this was a cosy place that I enjoyed exploring with a car on my own.
Tirana (Albania) - The "city that was taken back with paint" by its mayor after decades of grey dictatorship, is a place where your travel money will allow you to stay long. You can use it as a base to explore the rest of the country by public transport or take day trips to the nearby beaches. It is also a famously friendly digital-nomad destination, especially in the shoulder months.
Pnom Pehn (Cambodia) - Most of Southeast Asia is very affordable, but the capital of Cambodia is a particularly good option for budget travelers because it does not receive the amount of tourism of other destinations as most visitors to the country focus on Angkor Wat, in Siem Reap, and has kept affordable prices. Flights have also dropped, according to Skyscanner, so, if you are planning to head over to SEA, consider adding a stop here.
El Salvador - It could not be a better time to visit this Central American country than now that is safer than ever. The country is small so public transportation is a great way to see most of it. Street food is fantastic (those pupusas are so yum!) and boutique hotels abound. Direct flights from several US cities make it easy to get to from North America.
Lunang Prabang (Laos) - Probably the prettiest town in Southeast Asia, where monks collect alms at sunrise, temples have golden roofs and rivers flow slowly to the sound of floating wooden boats.
โ
Note: All of Southeast Asia is pretty affordable, but I picked destinations that are less known or common.
