No detail has been spared to make this, truly, the trip you won't forget.

Trip highlights

Ecuador

The Galapagos

This 13-day itinerary is practically all inclusive with just a couple of dinners left open for you to relax.

We will spend 7 days on the Ecuador mainland and 6 in the Galapagos, in premium and intimate accommodation that is local and female owned, carbon-neutral and environmentally focused. Being in such fragile environments, being eco-conscious is not an option for us.

We will spend time in the middle of the rainforest at a beautiful bamboo lodge, waking up to the sunrise sounds of the howler monkeys, and in the remote Galapagos islands, with just a handful of us around sea lions, penguins, dolphins and more.

I have curated every aspect of this trip to be nothing short of spectacular and I am so excited to share it with you!

The details

When: 5 to 17 May, 2026

How long: 13 days / 12 nights

Who: Maximum of 15 guests.

Inclusions: 12 nights in luxury accommodation, all daily meals but three, 4 domestic flights (Quito - El Coca in the Amazon - Quito / Quito - Baltra in The Galapagos - Quito), alcoholic drinks at welcome & farewell dinner and daily onboard, WiFi throughout, expert naturalist guides & indigenous tracker in the Amazon and The Galapagos, all conservation fees.

Premium accommodation, local & female owned

  • 3 nights in Quito at a new 5* hotel
  • 1 night in Otavalo at a new 4* hotel (family-owned)
  • 3 nights at a 5* Eco-lodge & Spa in the Amazon
  • 4 nights onboard a luxury catamaran in The Galapagos
  • 1 night at a 4* hotel in Santa Cruz island.

All hotels but the one in Otavalo are owned by Ecuadorian women.

Here's what you can expect on the trip:

1. Intimate & exclusive experience

Visit some of the most remote and incredible parts of this Earth in the most magical way. Travel with a small group, away from crowds.

We will explore the Galapagos without other ships around, having the islands and spots all to ourselves, at the optimal time to be at each spot: In the early morning or late evening for our walks and before lunch for snorkeling.

Our group will have a maximum of 15 guests, though it may be even smaller, and give us the flexibility to jump in the water to swim with a pod of dolphins, play with penguins or snorkel with sea lions when we spot them.

2. Premium trip

We will stay at 5* accommodation throughout the trip except for one night, and we will be taken care of by a fantastic team of local guides, naturalists and crew, ready to spoil us.

They'll help take our wet suits off, offer a warm drink and some snacks when back from our excursions, prepare rubber boots and ponchos when it rains, and paddle the canoes through the Amazon backwaters.

Most people only visit the Amazon and the Galapagos once, and we have decided to make this an unforgettable one.

3. 100% female local immersion

We support local and female owned businesses and that is what makes our trips truly special.

We are proud that this trip will spend 11 of the 12 nights at hotels, lodges and catamarans owned by Ecuadorian women.

Our activities will showcase women from the various communities, from the indigenous people of the Amazon to the Kichwa, giving us the chance to meet a range of Ecuadorian women from all walks of life and learn about the rich tapestry Ecuador is made of and its indigenous traditions.

We will be hosted by a female Ecuadorian guide and Amazon expert in the mainland and I will host the Galapagos portion of the trip.

This is a trip that will touch your soul.

4. Environmentally focused itinerary and partners

The catamaran in the Galapagos and the Amazon lodge are the only certified carbon-neutral accommodations in the country.

Several measures have been implemented to make this trip mindful of the fragile eco-systems it visits:

  • For every guest, a tree will be planted in the Amazon to help with carbon footprint and environmental impact
  • In the Amazon, fans and an open plan design replace air conditioning units that require fuel and generators and disturb wildlife. We will move around on silent paddle canoes
  • Food is sourced locally wherever possible, supporting local communities and minimizing transportation footprint
  • Wildlife sightings are done safely, for us and for the animals. Although it is common for the curious Galapagos animals to come right up to you, we will keep our distance
  • We will have wildlife experts with us at all times, to make sure we don't do anything that could harm wildlife

5. Best time to visit, strategically chosen

Wildlife in both the Amazon and the Galapagos is endemic, so it can be observed year-round, but the weather can play a major role in how comfortable and easy those sightings are.

The Amazon and Galapagos have completely different weather patterns so our trip will take place strategically where it's optimal to visit both based on the weather, water temp, visibility, sea conditions and rainfall.

We will make the most of the minimal light pollution to stargaze and see the Milky Way at night, enjoy balmy sunsets & sunrises, snorkel with good visibility, chill by the cleanest beaches and hopefully enjoy some dry days in the Amazon.

6. Incredible wildlife sightings

Although we can never guarantee a sighting, our expert naturalists and trackers know how to spot wildlife and will help us get up and close to the most commonly seen species. I saw all the below during my scouting trip:

  • Dozens of sea lions on land and at sea, happy to swim with you
  • Penguins, who swim with you or chill on the rocks
  • Hammerhead & white tip sharks
  • Mantas following our zodiacs and sting rays swimming around
  • Large schools of tropical fish everywhere
  • Pods of dolphins following our zodiacs and staying to swim with us
  • Sea turtles and giant tortoises who live everywhere in Santa Cruz
  • Thousands of birds many of whom will rest in our shadow or let us get really close: toucans, parrots, macaws, hoatzin, cormorant, herons, Greater Ani, anhinga, owls, Frigatebird, Swallow-tailed gull, Nazca, blue-footed and red-footed boobies, pelicans, finches, albatros, hawks and the queen of the rainforest - the harpy eagle!
  • Monkeys: Black mantled tamarin monkey, red howler monkeys as our morning alarm clock, squirrel monkeys, dusky titi monkey, spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys and more
  • Sloths, though typically they are far and great at camouflaging
  • Piranhas, which we can fish for, and caymans
  • Tapir and otters
  • Marine and land iguanas

The best part, I was concerned there would be many bugs around at meal times or in my room but that was not the case. Yes, there were some mosquitoes (but the beds have netting), and the occasional bug, but nothing which deterred me - and I don't like bugs at all.

This is a TRUE trip of a lifetime for all those who love to get truly off the beaten path, away from civilisation and in the middle of nature. I hope we can share with you.

Join us in the Arctic in 2026!

After very happy trips to the Arctic this year, we just launched our 2026 dates.

We will only be able to have 2 trip next year due to hotel availability, so go reserve your spot if you are keen to join us.

Here are the Highlights from the trip:

Respectful and responsible Sami immersion

The Sami people are the indigenous population of the Arctic. Their land is often referred to as Lapland in marketing materials, and extends from Norway to Russia.

Despite it being used by travel companies and Government bodies, Lapland is a derogatory term we have decided not to use.

There are many reasons Sami culture is under threat, and we will meet several women keeping this heritage alive. Some are activists, some are business owners, some are Swedish who relocated to the Arctic, some married into Sami traditions, others were born into it.

Thanks to our local relationships, we will be fortunate to immerse ourselves in Sami culture and listen to beautiful "yoik", the singing storytelling tradition used to past down knowledge to future generations, in a traditional teepee tent, around the camp fire. Their stories will touch your soul.

Premium accommodation

We will stay at some of the Arctic's most beautiful and exclusive accommodations, from Arctic Bath's stunning cabins to cozy Sorbyn Lodge, and the incredible Ice Hotel, world's first of its kind turning 35 next year.

Arctic spa rituals

Almost every day, you will get to enjoy the Arctic spa ritual of hot sauna and cold plunge in the natural frozen lakes.

Saunas are an essential part of Scandinavian culture, but will you be brave enough to participate in the full circuit?

We will stay at the Arctic's most exclusive spa hotel, Arctic Bath, where you can participate in the full ritual using local cosmetic products from a female owned company. We have also reserved exclusive use of the sauna and cold plunge at other hotels.

Expect to go back home with renewed energy, better mood and a healthier glow!

Traditional Sami food and wild foraging

Food in the Arctic is fresh, it is local, and it is tastier than you ever tried before, because it is simply cooked but prepared with the most beautiful ingredients.

Nordic cuisine is all the rage these days and we'll learn more about how it combines modernity with Sami traditions through a foraging workshop and a Sami cooking class with interesting foods like cheese coffee. I promise you this part of the trip will surprise you the most.

Reindeer herding and traditions

Unlike in other Nordic countries, Sami people are the only ones allowed to own reindeer in Sweden, and they are an integral part of Sami culture.

We will meet Anna, a reindeer herder living in the forests of the Arctic, who is preserving Sami traditions and taking care of these adorable animals the traditional way. We will hand-feed them and get up and close.

Anna will cook a traditional meal for us in her cozy teepee tent, sing and share stories around the fire. This is THE absolute highlight of this trip.

Husky sledding

We'll head out into the snow-covered forests on a half-day convoy of husky sleds which you will get to ride and drive.

We will learn all about huskies, and how to mindfully train them with Ylva, who decided to pioneer a new approach that is more respectful, more intentional and calmer.

Snowmobiling

When everything is covered in snow, the fastest way to get around is on a snowmobile.

We will get to drive them on a super fun and exciting adventure through snowmobiling tracks, over frozen lakes and thick forests, adrenaline pumping!

Ice Hotel

The Ice Hotel is built every year in November and melts away into the Arctic rivers every April.

We will spend 3 nights in a warm room with the option to upgrade to an Ice room for one night.

We will tour this amazing structure, carved from ice blocks from scratch every year, enjoy a drink served in an ice glass at the bar, and share a fine dining meal on ice.

Meaningful connections

This trip is designed to be fully immersive and slow, with plenty of time to not just observe Sami culture, but be a part of it.

Hearing stories, learning about a completely different way of life, discussing the challenges of every day life in a frozen wonderland and while part of a very small minority,...

Northern Lights

The Swedish Arctic is one of the best places in the world to spot the Northern Lights and we have picked the end of March / beginning of April because they are still visible this far north.

We spotted them on 5 and 2 nights respectively during the tours this year, one evening they covered the entire sky. There is a very high chance you will too.
