πŸ—ΊοΈ NEW DESTINATION ALERT + My travels for the rest of 2025

Hi Reader,

Where in the world are you today and how are you?

I am still in Greece with Stella, and the rest of the crew and guests traveling with us through the islands. Not to make you jealous, but we are in Mykonos today, at a facy beach club, having cocktails and massages by the beach, having a great time 😍

You can join us next year on our sailing in the last week of May. See the trip details here.

πŸ“© On this week's email:

  • My travel plans for the rest of the year are exciting and a little bit quieter than the first half of the year.
  • In 2026 we will not offer trips to the Amalfi Coast or Croatia & Montenegro, but we are working on new itineraries for both, join the waitlist if you are interested in either.

My travel plans for the rest of the year

The fist half of this year has been extremely busy and I have found myself taking way too many overnight, continental flights that were longer than 15 hours.

I am exhausted...

So I decided that I would take time this summer to enjoy my hometown, a tourist destination in itself that thousands vacation at every year, so I could rest and truly make the most of how beautiful summer is in Europe.

My travel plans from July to December are more modest than during the first half of the year, and that, in itself, makes me so happy! Here's what I have booked:

  • In early July, I will sail the coast of Croatia on a 30-people boat, from Dubrovnik all the way to Venice. A week-long trip that we may offer in 2026, and that will explore Croatia's best spots. We will visit Kotor in Montenegro, truffle hunt in Istria - the truffle capital of the world, visit Plitvice Lakes, and swim in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic, off the many beautiful Croatian islands. I may also spend a weekend in beautiful Menorca, Mallorca's smaller, younger, quieter sister island.
  • In August, A friend is visiting me and we may spend a couple of days in the Pyrenees hiking or chill in the Costa Brava. I will also celebrate my birthday as is tradition, with my best friend, somewhere easy going. We use to take extravagant trips for our birthdays, but this year I want something easy, so we are thinking Slovakia. If you have recommendations, hit me up!
  • In September, I will visit Georgia on our first tour to the country. I can't wait to drink all the wine I can get my hands on, eat all the cheese my stomach can fit and munch on all the amazing bread the country is famous for. I know the women we meet and spend time with on this trip will fuel me for the rest of the year with their passion for change and their determination. At the end of the trip, I will go on a 6 day solo scouting trip to Armenia in view of offering it as an extension to our Georgia trip from 2026.
  • In the first half of October, I will be in Madagascar for our first tour. I am SOOOO excited for this trip. I love getting off the beaten path and Madagascar is one of the least visited countries in the world, true to its culture and heritage and raw at its core. I love animals and spending time up and close with lemurs is so much fun, plus I love chameleons and could stare at them for hours...
  • In the second half of October, I am going on a little side trip to some of the most remote islands in the Indian Ocean with a couple of friends: Reunion Island (a French Overseas Territory), the Comoros Islands and Mayotte (a French Overseas Territory). I love hard-to-reach islands and I am excited to hike volcanoes, explore beaches and generally get off the grid for a few days. These are the trips that make me happiest, so I am very much looking forward to it.

  • In November and December, I have no plans. And I am THRILLED! I know my calendar will be filled with trips real soon. For example, we started our very early stages of planning for a trip to Saudi Arabia, and this would be the right time to go. I can also finalise the scouting of our Andalusia trip then. It is very likely that I spend New Year's Eve in Argentina, as we are planning a trip that would align with our Antarctica expedition and celebrate NYE in Buenos Aires with a side trip to the wine region of Mendoza for 2026. This trip would be available to everyone, not just those coming on out Antarctica trip, though it makes for the perfect extension to the trip of a lifetime!

Where are you going in the second half of the year?

New destination insider

As I hinted at at the beginning of this email and when talking about my travel plans for the year, we are working on a few new destinations to be added to the calendar for 2026 and 2027.

Sailing Croatia

We are thinking of replacing our Venice and Croatia & Montenegro trips with a sailing from Dubrovnik to Venice onboard our private boat.

The itinerary is exciting because it allows us to start and end at beautiful cities you can easily explore on your own, while sailing the beautiful coast of Croatia and stopping along the way at great spots for swimming and other cool activities like truffle hunting, Plitvice Lakes, wineries, heritage, and more.

Saudi Arabia

Meg and I have always believed that things only change with dialogue and that we must separate people from their Government.

Saudi Arabia is a country rich in history and heritage and where hospitality is genuine, and we want to take you behind closed doors to meet local women and support the many new female owned businesses that are sprouting up. Change can be seen and felt in the country, and there is nothing I want more than to see women thrive.

I visited Saudi Arabia during the first week the country opened to tourism in 2019, and have had friends working there for almost 2 decades, including my best friend who still goes almost every week.

A lot has changed in the last 10 years from those signs at the embassy in Dubai that read "We do not gives visas to women", and I am keen to visit on my own again and share it with you.

Armenia

As I was saying above, we will host our first and second Georgia tours this September and, in between, I have organized a short scouting trip to neighbouring Armenia which is somewhat similar but also completely different from Georgia. Exploring both of them together makes a lot of sense, so I am curious to explore the country and add it onto our 2026 calendar.

You can join our waitlist if any of the above trips is of interest. We always announce the trip to the waitlist first, sometimes with launch offers, and with priority. Many of our new trips get sold out really quickly, so by getting on the waitlist, you get first dips.

Photo of the week

Last week's photo

This is a throw-back photo to that time, when I was in my early 20s and decided to spend a summer in Honduras volunteering at an NGO that manages several schools. We helped find donors and spent a weekend exploring the Mayan ruins of Copan. Did you recognise me? πŸ˜…

This week's photo is below, can you guess where it was taken? Hint: it is VERY high up in the clouds.

Travel news, interesting conversations in the group and other important things to know:

  • Did you follow the US airline saga of the solo traveler supplement? Thrifty Traveler reported last week that it found out the 3 major US carriers had started offering cheaper rates only to those booking more than 1 ticket, thus charging solo travelers a higher fare. There was uproar and immediate bad press, and they retracted. Here is when the news broke and here the update.
