Vietnam & Cambodia update: I know many of you have been waiting for our 2027 Vietnam and Cambodia trips to launch so I wanted to let you know that we have had to postpone the trip launch to 2028 due to operational reasons. We are sure that 2028 will be the year for it, sadly 2027 just didn't work out.
This week's tip is about a new feature Google has just launched to track hotel prices and get an email when they drop. This is similar to what they were already offering with flights but for hotels.
How to track hotel prices with Google
Google has just released a new feature that mimics what they offer in flight tracking, but for individual hotels, and it's gold!
You can now set up email alerts when the price of a hotel drops.
Where to find this feature:
Go to Google.com/Hotels and search for the hotel you are interested in. When you find it, make sure to add the dates you are looking for. See screenshot below.
2. You then scroll down to find a toggle button called Track this hotel. Toggle it ON and it will change to Tracking prices.
3. It will then tell you that you will get emails when the hotel's prices change for the dates you selected.

Price comparison
The most obvious comparison tool Google Hotels offers is the same as they offer for flights: price comparison across various booking platforms including the hotel's website.
Top things to know about the hotel
Under the hotel details, you will find a list of things that Google has deemed important to know about a hotel. This comes from the reviews and comments guests leave and highlights things like the restaurant, the breakfast, the location, etc.
Price of an extra night
Under the Tracking price, you will also see the price of an extra night at the hotel. Hotels will often charge more for one night than for more and will give discounts for longer stays.
Check in and check out times
This handy info is at the bottom and displayed next to other amenities the hotel has.
